bio

Born in Rome, her music work is inspired by the swing tradition and by the pop melodies of her youth at same time.

She developed a deep passion for music after watching the movie Sister Act: when she was a child, she says that all she wanted was to have black skin, sing, and direct  a choir… obviously she did not fulfill her dream as a whole, but she achieved two thirds of it!

When she was a kid, I sung in the choirs of all the schools she has attended, as well as in that of the church of her neighborhood. When she was 12, she began studying classical guitar, and she continued for 3 years with Maestro Salvatore Rotunno. Then, she studied modern singing at the Scuola Popolare di Musica Donna Olimpia. In 2007, she enrolled at the Professional Jazz Singing Diploma course at the Saint Louis College of Music in Rome, where she studied with Pierluca Buonfrate, Antonio Solimene, Claudio Colasazza, Andrea Avena, Pierpaolo Principato, Claudio Mastracci, and Diego Caravano.

In that same period, she graduated in Translation and Interpreting, working later as ground staff for Alitalia at Leonardo da Vinci airport in Rome. From these experiences, she learnt that you have to follow your dreams if you want to be happy... and she realized that this was not part of any of her dreams!

Therefore, she changed her life and chose to continue study music and to attend the Jazz Composing and Arranging course at the Santa Cecilia Conservatory, studying with Maria Pia De Vito and Danilo Rea, and in April 2013 she obtained her degree with a thesis named “The silence”.

She also continued studying vocals and jazz, attending numerous seminars with - amongst others - Cinzia Spata, Bob Stoloff, Roger Treece, Albert Hera.

As she deeply believe that music is one of the best way to see beauty in the world and to heal human being in many ways since we are kids, she studied Didactics for children, and I followed Orff-Shulwerk Methodology and Practice courses at the Scuola Popolare di Musica Donna Olimpia, attending also seminars on Body percussion and Choir direction. In 2015, she attended a seminar on the Teaching of music to visually-impaired people, and, in 2016, a seminar on Children’s choirs Direction at the Scuola popolare di Musica di Testaccio.

She has been working in Italy as music teacher for kids and adults and she led several choirs. Two of her choirs of kids sang during the italian TV show “Home Christmas” with Laura Pausini, and then with Fiorella Mannoia.

Since 2019 she is based in Paris. After having washed so many dishes in a kitchen, today she performs in jazz clubs and festivals and she works as music teacher, for kids and adults, and she is choir director in a Conservatory.
